Design

In 40 years we have learnt a great deal about towbar design. In 10 years of testing we have learnt a great deal about towbar testing. With two rigs, we have the capacity to test when ever we please and this is generally done in the quiet winter period. Designs are accumulated during the year and then tested ready for the spring when our new pricelist is printed.

Following the introduction of new regulation in 1998, we must use the official towbar manufacturing points. This gives little latitude for differences in the finished product, in layout, and none in strength, but still allow us to innovate. Most Anker Towbars end with two L shaped ball carriers bolted between two drop plates. After may years of doing this we note that recently several large manufacturers are also doing this.

Bumper cutting and removal during fitting are avoided wherever possible and we believe we achieve this more that any other company.

We were the first British company to show bumper cutting/removal details on a wall chart. Another Anker innovation that is now widespread.
